Fashion Week Cleveland Showcases Natural Fibers May 2

The United Nations has declared 2009 to be the “Year of the Natural Fibre.” In honor of this commitment, Fashion Week Cleveland’s nationally acclaimed wearable art show goes “green-sustainability.” Artists and designers will collaborate to create wearable art presentations in a runway extravaganza that crosses the line between art and fashion while incorporating natural and recycled elements. “Unclothed” will be held May 2 at the Galleria, E. 9th St. & St. Clair Ave., from 8 p.m. - midnight.

Fashion Week Cleveland (FWC) informs consumers and industry leaders about the cultural importance and economic contributions of the fashion industry, and serves as a positive catalyst for achievement in fashion design, manufacture, education and retail growth. Fashion Week Cleveland is known as the “educational fashion week” and has become the most significant industry event between New York and Los Angeles. In addition to traditional runway shows, the event incorporates exhibits, films, industry tours, seminars and workshops at cultural institutions throughout Northeast Ohio.
