Letter from the Editor
If you are looking for daily inspiration, I encourage you to visit www.rowforwater.com and read Katie Spotz’s daily blog about her 2,500 mile epic solo paddle across the Atlantic Ocean. Spotz left early January from Dakar, Senegal and plans to arrive in Cayenne, French Guiana in late March. Read page 4 of this issue for more details about her “trip” and how she has already raised more than $30,000 to help bring safe drinking water to people in need around the world.

EcoWatch is proud to sponsor What’s on Your Plate?, a witty and provocative documentary produced and directed by award-winning Catherine Gund about kids and food politics, at this year’s Cleveland International Film Festival. Read page 9 to learn more about this film and other eco-films that will be shown from March 18 - 28 at Tower City Cinemas.
Thank you to all the writers who contribute to EcoWatch Journal. Every issue we receive nearly 100 submissions from community members, businesses and policy makers about the work they are doing. I feel very fortunate to have a bird’s-eye view of Ohio’s sustainability community. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are dedicated to helping create a sustainable future for our state. It is a very significant time to be part of the sustainability movement and EcoWatch is excited to be one of the links in the chain helping to create positive change in our region.
