We are currently in the process of trademarking our new name. Unfortunately, I am unable to announce what we chose, but as of April 1, we will officially be using our new name and the winner of our contest will be revealed in our April/May issue.
This issue is jam packed with lots of exciting news and events. The Cleveland Carbon Fund is a wonderful new program that will stimulate economic development through environmental programs and stewardship. Be sure to read the cover story and check out the comprehensive website at www.clevelandcarbonfund.org. On Page 3, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher provides information on the many incentives available to businesses and residents who want to invest in renewable energy projects. Once again we are highlighting the Think Outside the Bottle campaign and encouraging individuals, businesses and governments to stop buying bottled water.
In December, Cleveland lost a very dear friend to the environment. For more than 30 years, Alan Kuper worked relentlessly on environmental issues with a specific passion for the issue of sustainable population. Alan will be greatly missed. His dedication and perseverance as an activist will be long remembered.
Be sure to enjoy the white fluffy stuff outside because before you know it, it will be spring.
