POETRY:  Let’s live life before….

Let’s live life before the sun has no
            reason to shine
The earth is hidden by dense fog for
            one last time

Let’s enjoy the moon and stars,
The planets and the constellations
The rain and snow, the hail and sleet
The puddles that tickle our feet

Let’s live today and not worry
About the end of the journey
When there will be little for our eyes
            to gaze upon
For our hands to fondle, for our nose
            to decipher
What is real and what is fake

Let’s take the path that leads to trees,
plants, rivers, and oceans
Towards mountains, valleys, rocks, and
lakes
Towards birds, bees, deer, and all others
Towards clean air, non-polluted streams,
Where fish can breathe and not
            suffocate,
Where birds can fly and not be harmed
Where we as children, one with earth
can enjoy a better, cleaner, safer
place BEFORE…
There is no more life to live
