Beachwood Marketing Students Create ‘Green Dream’ Showcase

Twenty marketing education students at Beachwood High School are hosting the “Green Dream,” an eco-friendly showcase, where 60 environmentally friendly businesses and organizations from across Ohio will join together to educate the public on how to lead a green lifestyle. The free showcase, including food, activities, entertainment and free product takeaways, will be held on Arbor Day, Friday, April 25, from 2 -7 p.m. at the Beachwood Community Center. The students are currently seeking exhibitors and sponsors.

The Beachwood High School project, called the “Green Dream,” is part of the Junior Achievement Company Program, which provides basic economic education for high school students through their organization and operation of an actual business enterprise. Proceeds from the event will be used to build the “Ultimate Green Classroom” at Beachwood High School. Wall and floor coverings, technology, HVAC, office furniture and supplies, and lighting, along with strategies for classroom teaching, will all be modified to create a national model for Green Classrooms. The students are working with Doty & Miller Architects, which is donating its services, and Aleris International & Chairman Steve Demetriou are lead sponsors of the event.
