Green Energy Expo: Aug. 16, Akron
Renewable energy and energy efficiency companies and organizations will be on display for the public at the Northeast Ohio Green Energy Expo on Sat., Aug. 16 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron. Day-long activities for attendees include access to clean energy companies in the exhibit hall, four tracks of consumer-oriented presentations focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability and job/training programs in the emerging green energy economy, and keynote speaker, renowned climate expert Dr. Lonnie Thompson. The Northeast Ohio Green Energy Expo is FREE and open to the public.
"The number of clean energy sites are growing across Ohio. More serious interest by Ohioans is evidenced by an increasing clean energy market demand," said Green Energy Ohio (GEO) Executive Director, Bill Spratley.
"Attending the Expo is a one-stop shop for people interested in interacting with companies that can help them reduce energy costs through the implementation of energy efficient and renewable energy technologies," said Athan Barkoukis, program manager of the Northeast office of GEO. "There are opportunities for any interest level for those who are eager to learn more about renewable energy's crucial role in our economic future," said Barkoukis.
