Farmlink “Speed Dating” Workshop

The Countryside Conservancy’s FarmLink program is hosting a “Speed Dating” workshop May 3 for beginning farmers and retiring farmers/land owners in Northeast Ohio. Not actually a dating service, the workshop will feature experts on farm financing, estate planning, business planning, farm transition, land conservation options, start up funding and marketing options for local growers. Participants will schedule 10 minute one on one sessions between farm owners & farm seekers and have time to connect with the experts, to discuss resources and advice regarding the farmer’s particular situation. It will take place in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. FarmLink has been connecting beginning and retiring farmers since 2006. The Speed Dating workshop will enable participants to meet each other, discuss their farm operations and talk with experts who may be able to help them take the next step.

The Countryside Conservancy is a nonprofit in Summit County. They take a comprehensive approach to protecting farmland, supporting farmers and growing a healthy local food system.
